Version 0.2.5.0 Released! And introducting a new Developer!
New version update!
Combat, map, and other systems are still quite unfinished and are very much prone to user error which is why it is not in the public version. The testers are still slogging through the mess and helping to suggest improvements! Company units are in use and rear-line development is ongoing.
Rixas 0.2.5.0
- Upgrade to godot 4
- Added damage class identifiers to firearm range
- Added armor calculations to firearm range
- Upgraded cartridge designer
- Bug fixes and other work
New developer!:
Introducing a new developer to the team! Zhai Jinpeng (Phoenix) has developed one of the best Internal Ballistic simulators I have seen (The Phoenix Internal Ballistic Simulator). His system will be integrated into Rixas with the needed adjustments. I am expecting to heavily change some of the designers as a result of the change.
Phoenix will be working on the Rixas project proper.
This is a massive change. Current Rixas designers are pretty much a placeholder, and some of the underlying calculations behind it are held together by duck tape and hope (try implementing an equation that doesn't seem to work no matter how you implement it).
I hope you are all excited for the change and welcome Phoenix warmly!

I keep recieving N/A during my barrel and firearm tests despite the designs
i¨ve made being functional. Unsure if doing something wrong here?
EDIT: After some experimentation, shortening the round a bit and making my propellant a tad more reliable I've made a decent handgun and carbine, that while only able to get through around 2 militeres of vehicle armour should function against enemy infantry while being cheap to produce. Thanks for the help Elfkan.
Can you provide a full screenshot of the problem? There can be a few reasons why something might go wrong
Noted, Information should be legible, couldn't directly post images due to file size constraint so utilizing Imgur album. Didn't shown errors during the creation process. IMAGES
Willing to share more information if neccesary.
The reason why it shows nan in this case is because your propellant is too weak to actually propel the bullet at a meaningful speed.
Some things I noted from a quick lookover:
1. Projectile to casing ratio looks to be off. Generally when you are starting out you always want your projectile to be shorter than your casing.
2. M26 is the most reliable propellant to use as RLG can get pretty crazy if you don't experiment with it significantly. With that, your propellant grain is also very massive for a small arms cartridge. You want many small propellant grains for a faster burn, ex 1mm or sub 1mm grains. You can visualize this by seeing how different shapes burn in real life!
You also may want to play with perforated grains if desired performance is not met due to perforated grains being able to burn from both the outside and inside at the same time leading to a neutral burn time graph.
Hopefully this helps!
Appreciated, will look into it. Though that should definetly be a feature of the cartridge designer, explaining that you lack enough propellant.
