A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

A downloadable game for Windows and Linux.

Support me at ko-fi!

A completely free(forever) grand strategy game  where you control everything about your army, air force, and navy.

In Rixas, you will possess the heads of your country's military throughout time. You will be able to create gear down to the finest details. The loadout of every soldier and composition of every platoon is under your control.

Politics is at large, as it is in any other organization. You don't have full control over the government or your subordinates. People need time to be convinced of new ideas or equipment, and victory can make a nation complacent.

The game is currently in the early stages of development. Most choices and simplifications are intentional and does not represent the final product.

Current Public Build

Basic designers up to the company level with tools to get your designs ready for the combat demo.

Discord & Community

Feel free to join the discord and the subreddit to talk about the game, get help, and share your experiences! (Also for the testing club if you are interested in that). The community is also very helpful!

It is also a great place to get news of the latest updates, join special programs, and chat with fellow commanders!

Installation

Simply extract the entire folder and run the executable. If you want to open the game from another directory make a shortcut.

The difference in linux and windows file sizes is intentional and due to different compiling exporters.

About The Team

Hi it's the head developer, Elfkan. The idea was always there since I was young and I announced the Rixas project in 2019, due to my inexperience at the time I wasn't really able to take it off the ground. In 2022, the project was completely restarted from scratch and I can't wait to see where it goes next! Very excited to launch a wargame out of Canada!

I believe that such a dream project of many should be shared for free, but if you do have the financial ability, please do support the development. We do quite enjoy existing.

Brief question. Do handguns require you to actually press the dust cover option? Considering most semi automatic handguns have parts that fullfill said function build in, of course not being called dust covers.

I don't think so, if you look at common handgun operation, the bolt is closed-bolt. The only time it stays open is when it locks back.

Mmh, just felt the need to confirm. Though on another note, shells don't really seem to display their payload? Alongside shotgun shells not showing properly in the visual.

When do you plan to make the game playable? Currently from what I saw only the design of units is available.

(+2)

The game is always moving from playable state to playable state. Combat is currently in testing and is very rough, and I am very busy. I would say the combat portion would be out in a year or two?

K, thanks for the response!

Will potential wildlife and envirommental hazards be a factor you plan to implement? IE, toxic foliage or atmospheric ash-clouds. also somewhat relevant, chemical and biological warfare?

Those are definitely interesting and I would like to get to them in the future but not priority. For chemical and biological warfare it will either be abstracted or changed to a fictional system as I don't plan on making irl designers for those.

Sounds reasonable, could perhaps just allow you to choose between some pre-made existing diseases/chemical agents, or more abstract designed ones. IE deployment method, affected systems, density and stuff. Overall I just like my hostile landscapes and potentially backfiring weapons.

please add like a jeep and a normal car

Coming soon!

Damn a hidden gem. I always imagine of this kind of games. Wish I could help. Btw keep up the good work mate the 0.2.0.0 update is good af.

I feel like you should add some text that quickly explains what something means when you hover over it so i dont have to keep going back and forth from and to google, would be really helpful. Great game tho

(1 edit)

interesting.

my only problem is how do i start.

what do you mean?

(+3)

Now i'm just assuming you mean the strategy game itself. Right now the playable strategy game isn't out yet, the gun and division designer are the only available features.

Look at this hidden gem I found :DD
